Kay Kizo Hiramine, Jr. - President

 

Kay is the Chief Executive Officer for Humanitarian International Services Group (HISG). Kay was born into a first generation Japanese American home. After graduating in 1986, with a Bachelor of Arts from Occidental College in Los Angeles, CA, he worked for Procter and Gamble in southern California. He was ranked one of the top national salesman for Procter and Gamble's Food Division in 1988. He then worked for Coldwell Banker Commercial Real Estate as an Industrial Sales and Leasing Agent in Glendale, CA.

Kay has an International Diploma in Humanitarian Assistance (IDHA) from the University of Geneva, Fordham University, The Center for International Health and Cooperation and the Royal College of Surgeons at the University of Belfast. This globally recognized diploma was attained in Geneva, Switzerland. Information on this program can be found at www.cihc.org

Kay has a distinguished career in the faith-based world.  He has started multiple non-profits and has overseen global initiatives involving millions of people and every country of the world.

Kay is one of the founders of Humanitarian International Services Group (HISG), located in Colorado Springs, CO. Other office locations include; Englewood, Colorado; Rochester, NY; Conesus, NY; Dubai, UAE; Singapore; and Jakarta, Indonesia. HISG has worked with NGOs, IOs and US government officials in humanitarian activities in Iraq, Afghanistan, Pakistan, Philippines, Indonesia and Ecuador. HISG has moved over $20 million worth of humanitarian aid since 2001.

Kay resides with his wife Julie in Colorado Springs, Colorado. They have five daughters.

Mike McCausland - Chief Operating Officer

 

Michael currently serves as the Chief Operating Officer (COO) for Humanitarian International Services Group (HISG). He comes to HISG with an extensive background in both the for-profit and nonprofit sectors of business. Licensed by the Nuclear Regulatory Commission to operate and manage commercial nuclear power plants, Michael forged out to form an independent consulting company in 1985. Since that time, he has provided support services to over 50% of the operating nuclear power plants in the United States. He specializes in large-scale culture transformation, strategy development, business planning, and organizational structure and process.

In the nonprofit sector, Michael has an equally extensive background of qualifications. He has functioned as the COO for three nonprofit startup ventures and provided consulting services to a host of additional nonprofit organizations in strategic development and organizational process. During his tenure in the nonprofit sector he served as a steering committee member for one of the largest faith-based initiatives in history, mobilizing over 35 million participants worldwide.

Michael co-founded Humanitarian International Services Group with Kay Kizo Hiramine, Rob Mabary and Michael Mastrodonato in Colorado Springs, Colorado. Their intent was to bring proven business practices and practical experience to the humanitarian aid arena. Their first goal was to develop an innovative model that would change the future of humanitarian aid operations. To implement these changes HISG launched a fast track of operations, and by mid December 2001 Michael was in Afghanistan delivering winter clothing into an active war zone. In less than 5 years, HISG has delivered over $20 million in humanitarian aid to conflict regions of the world.

Michael lives in Colorado Springs, Colorado with his wife Chris and their five children.

Michael A. Mastrodonato - VP Resource Mobilization

 

Vice President of Resource Mobilization and General Counsel to Humanitarian International Services Group

In October, 2005 Michael A. Mastrodonato joined Humanitarian International Services Group full time as Vice President of Resource Mobilization and General Counsel.

Michael A. Mastrodonato formed his own law firm in February 2003, where he could concentrate on serving the needs of Humanitarian International Services Group. In January 2005 Mr. Mastrodonato became Of Counsel, to The Adair Law Firm so that he could serve full time in the mission of Humanitarian International Services Group serving orphans and widows of the World.

Mr. Mastrodonato joined the law firm of Kaman, Berlove, Marfiioti, Jacobstein & Goldman, LLP in September of 1988. On January 3, 1995, Michael A. Mastrodonato was named as a partner with the Law Firm of Kaman, Berlove, Marafioti, Jacobstein & Goldman, LLP. Mr. Mastrodonato's primary areas of practice include general corporate law, real estate, estate planning and trusts and estates. A 1981 graduate of St. John Fisher College in Rochester, New York, Mr. Mastrodonato received his Juris Doctor Decree from the Santa Clara University School of Law in Santa Clara, California in 1988. Mr. Mastrodonato attended Georgetown University International Affairs Program for one semester prior to going into the Navy.

Mr. Mastrodonato's Bar Membership includes New York State, Fourth Judicial Department and United States District Court, Western District of New York.

Legal Activities include serving as a member of the Business Law, Real Estate and Trust and Estate Sections of the New York State and Monroe County Bar Association.

Mr. Mastrodonato is retired from the United States Naval Reserve from 1988 through 1995.

Mr. Mastrodonato is active in civic and community affairs serving on numerous not-for-profit corporation boards of directors as well as for-profit boards of directors and specifically is very active with an organization called Humanitarian International Services Group serving the orphans and widows of the World.

Married to Cynthia A. Mastrodonato in 1984, the Mastrodonatos have two children, Michael, Jr., now 17 and Daniel, now 11. They reside in Colorado Springs, Colorado.

Rob L. Mabary - Chief Financial Officer

 

Rob Mabary is the Chief Financial Officer and oversees all the financial aspects of Humanitarian International Services Group. Rob helped form HISG in 2001 with Kay Hiramine, Michael McCausland and Michael Mastrodonato and has been involved since the beginning.

Rob's role at HISG consists of all the different financial issues attached to running a non-profit 501(c)(3) organization. This includes accounting, efficient distribution of cash donations, and wide variety of administrative responsibilities. HISG is committed to meeting needs worldwide by connecting resources from all over the globe to some of the world's most remote and underdeveloped communities. This commitment demands knowledgeable, flexible, and resourceful allocation of funds for travel and mobilization. Rob's leadership in this area has been invaluable and instrumental in the success of HISG.

In addition to his work for HISG, Rob is the Chief Financial Officer for Private Sector Consulting. Private Sector Consulting coaches governments in enlisting the help of businesses, charities, faith-based organizations, civic groups, and educational institutions in responding to disasters too large for government agencies to handle, like Hurricane Katrina.

Rob's other accomplishments in sales and accounting go back twenty years and span several different industries. From 2001 to 2004 he was the Senior Vice President for Sales and Marketing for Jobson Education and was responsible for $35 million in sales. As president of the Postgraduate Institute for Medicine from 1991-1999, he took the company from bankruptcy to a $10 million private sale. Rob was the Director of Financial Planning and Analysis for US West Financial Services from 1987-1991 and helped the company grow from a startup to $4 billion in less than five years.

Rob and his wife Patrice were married in 2006. They live in Highlands Ranch, Colorado.
