Afghanistan & Central Asia |
In our first year of operations, HISG partnered with other NGO’s and faith-based groups to tour and assess the needs of both Pakistan refugee camps and IDP camps in Afghanistan. We later provided humanitarian aid to family members impacted by terrorist attacks in southern Pakistan, and we participated in the development of a rural model for the rebuilding of Afghanistan. Our recent trip to Indonesia provided tremendous opportunities for development! There has always been a significant population of poor people (over 4 billion!), and urbanization of the poor destabilizes society. With over 50% of the population of Jakarta at the poverty level, HISG plans to focus its efforts on two tracks to provide support to the urban and rural poor. Read more... |

The Philippines |
HISG has been very active in the Philippines. The accomplishments listed here are the result of a needs assessment compiled through a joint venture initiative of the US and Philippine governments. Humanitarian initiatives below are categorized in conjunction with the societal sectors identified. Humanitarian International Services Group, through principal and private donor funding, accomplished these initiatives in support of President Arroyo's Operation Gentle Wind.
